Editorial policy
How we decide what to publish, how we check it, and what we do when we get it wrong.
Independence
Our coverage is not for sale. We don't take payment to rank, recommend or review any financial product. If we ever add advertising, sponsorship or affiliate links, they will be clearly labelled and kept separate from our editorial decisions.
How we research
We start from primary sources: regulations, circulars and reports from RBI, SEBI, AMFI, IRDAI, PFRDA and the Income Tax Department, and product documents from the companies themselves. Where we use numbers, we say where they come from and what assumptions sit behind them.
How we check numbers
Worked examples are calculated, not estimated, and can be reproduced in our calculators. Where an example depends on a rate that changes, we label it as an illustration. We try not to quote specific tax rates, fund returns or insurer figures that go out of date quickly, and when we do, we point to the source to re-check.
Updates and corrections
Every article shows a publication date. When a rule changes, we update the article. If we make a mistake, we correct it promptly and say what changed. To report an error, use our contact page.
What we do not do
- We don't give personal investment, tax, legal or insurance advice.
- We don't promise or imply guaranteed returns.
- We don't recommend that readers buy or sell specific securities.
