About SK Finvest
We write the guide we wish we had when we first handled our own money: clear about how things work, honest about what can go wrong.
Why this site exists
Most financial information in India comes from someone with something to sell: an insurance plan, a fund, a course, a trading app. Much of the rest is either too simple to be useful or too technical to act on.
SK Finvest is an attempt at the middle ground. We explain how a product or rule works, show the arithmetic with real rupee figures, say what the risks are, and leave the decision to you.
What we cover
Budgeting and saving, investing in mutual funds and other assets, insurance, credit scores, loans, and planning for retirement. We stay on the practical side: what to check before you buy, what to avoid, and what to do next.
How we work
We show our working
Examples come with the rate, the term and the formula, so you can reproduce them in our calculators.
We name our sources
Rules and data come from RBI, SEBI, AMFI, IRDAI, PFRDA and the Income Tax Department.
We say what could go wrong
Returns are assumptions, not promises. Equity falls, debt funds carry risk, and plans break.
We keep India in focus
Indian tax rules, salaries, products and regulators, not advice translated from another country.
What we are not
We are an educational publication. We don't know your income, debts, family or goals, so we can't tell you what to do with your money. For personal advice, speak to a SEBI-registered investment adviser or another qualified professional. Our disclaimer and editorial policy explain the details.
